Overview
This policy explains what information Port My Code collects, why, and how it's handled. We keep this deliberately simple: we collect what's needed to run the service and nothing beyond that.
Information we collect
When you create an account, our authentication provider (Clerk) stores your email address and basic account identifiers. If you subscribe to a paid plan, our payment processor (Polar) handles your billing details, including card information, we never see or store your full card number. We also collect basic usage data, like which pages and tools you use, to keep the service reliable and to enforce free-tier rate limits.
Code and text you submit
When you paste code into a converter, it's sent to our AI processing providers to generate your converted output. That content is used only to produce your result. We don't keep a copy of it, log it long-term, or use it for anything beyond completing your request.
How we use information
We use account and usage data to provide the service, process payments, communicate with you about your account, and prevent abuse. This includes automated bot detection (Cloudflare Turnstile) on free-tier tool usage, which runs quietly in the background without asking you to solve a challenge.
Cookies and similar technology
We use essential cookies to keep you signed in and to remember basic preferences. These are necessary for the service to function and aren't used for third-party advertising.
Third-party services
We rely on a small set of providers to run Port My Code: Clerk for authentication, Polar for billing, Cloudflare for bot protection, and AI model providers for generating code conversions. Each handles the data needed to perform their part of the service under their own privacy terms.
We use Cloudflare Turnstile to tell real visitors apart from bots on free-tier tool usage, without showing you a challenge. Turnstile processes some device and browser signals to do this. See Cloudflare's Turnstile Privacy Policy for details on what it collects and how it's used.
We also use Ahrefs Web Analytics, a cookieless analytics tool, to understand overall site traffic and usage. It doesn't set a cookie in your browser, but it does process technical data such as IP address, browser and device type, referrer URL, and general location to produce aggregated traffic reports. See Ahrefs' Privacy Policy for details.
Data retention
We keep account data for as long as your account is active. If you'd like your account and associated data deleted, email us and we'll take care of it, subject to any records we need to keep for billing or fraud-prevention purposes.
Your rights
Depending on where you're located, you may have rights to access, correct, export, or delete your personal data, similar to what's described under regulations like the GDPR or CCPA. To exercise any of these, email [email protected] and we'll respond promptly.
Security
We take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your data, but no method of storage or transmission is completely secure, and we can't guarantee absolute security.
Children's privacy
Port My Code isn't directed at children, and we don't knowingly collect data from anyone under 13.
International data transfers
We operate from India and use service providers located in other countries. By using Port My Code, you understand your data may be processed outside your own country.
